JWT Specialized Communication

JWT Specialized Communications is a recognized leader in full-service recruitment advertising and employment communications. With over 50 years' experience in this market and offering a range of innovative recruitment - and retention-related services which are Web-focused and technology-driven.

As a member of the WPP Group, which just happens to be the second-largest communications group in the world the need was great to find a solution which could not only fit the current business, but allow it to grow with the compay's future requirements.

Ron Watson Director of the Specialized Communication's division takes up the story:

Our project started last September when we looked at ways of operating our business in a more efficient way.

 

Our Response Team’s ageing database was not very flexible and was not internet-friendly, so a feasibility study into ‘off the shelf’ solutions was undertaken.  The findings were both disappointing and revealing, trials of several products failed in use or could not be adapted to suit our needs.  From the study, we took the decision to develop our own JWTSC system. 

 

A detailed technical specification was produced and we entered into negotiations with seven prospective Software development companies. The seven were reduced to a shortlist of three who were formally invited in to make a presentation.

 

To help make our decision we devised a series of criteria, these criteria included: financial stabilities, technical competence and the flexibility of our chosen partner to work with us and not dictate a process of how their software should work within our environment.

 

In December we finally appointed e-Link as our partner and the project was given the codename COCO. The system, now fully operational is one of the mainstays of our business generation tools and as a direct result we are now able to offer our clients a higher degree of flexibility, speed and accuracy when it comes to recruit large volumes of candidates.

 

e-Link have been excellent partners throughout this process, providing a dedicated team of professionals who have combined expertise with flexibility when it came to altering parts of the specification during the project phases.

 

In hindsight e-Link was the definitive choice for this project as their overall professionalism has lead to JWTSC now being able to approach clients offering new ranges of service to provide enriched candidate search, selection and placement solutions.
